TEMPORARY CUSTODY OF COOPER’S CHILDREN AWARDED

TO NANCY’S PARENTS, SISTER

CARY , NC At today’s media briefing, Town of Cary Police Chief Pat Bazemore announced that temporary custody of Nancy and Brad Cooper’s two children, Bella and Katie, was officially transferred to Nancy ’s parents Garry and Donna Rentz and her sister Krista Lister late yesterday by a Wake County judge.

“The custody matter is a private civil matter between Nancy’s family and Brad.  It was not initiated by the Town of Cary Police Department and was not part of our investigation into Nancy ’s murder,” said Chief Bazemore, who added that information from the civil matter may be considered by Town investigators as they move forward with the murder case.

Throughout the day yesterday and into last night, the Town of Cary Police Department and the City County Bureau of Identification continued conducting a thorough and professional investigation. This work will continue today and everyone continues to be cooperative.

Also, Cooper’s family has asked for the community’s help in removing the missing posters featuring Nancy . The family has suggested that for anyone wishing to show their continued support, a good way would be to tie a white ribbon to their home mailbox or perhaps to a tree in their yard.
