“We congratulate this highly skilled group of dedicated individuals for their strong work ethic, valuable contributions, and productive relationships,” said Interim Town Manager Ben Shivar.  “Employees are the most important resource to Town government and our citizens, and we focus each day on attracting and retaining the very best.”

A committee of citizens and Town staff will select this year’s finalists and winner for the Employee of the Year award from the group of nominees.  This year’s winner will be named at a luncheon on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 , and recognized with a plaque and a $1,000 savings bond.

The Town of Cary ’s Employee of the Year program was established in 1989 to recognize employees who consistently perform well beyond what the job description requires. Nominees are consistently courteous and helpful to others, and they strive to improve themselves and participate in the community.  Many nominations often include accolades from Cary citizens.  For more about the program, see Employee of the Year at www.townofcary.org.
