TOWN CHANGES TRASH COLLECTION SCHEDULE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Christmas tree collection options announced

 

Because Town offices will be closed Mon., Dec. 24 - Wed., Dec. 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday, solid waste and recycling will be collected during the week of December 24-28 as follows:

 

 

Also because Town offices will be closed Tues., Jan. 1, 2008 in observance of New Year’s Day, solid waste and recycling will be collected during the week of December 31-January 4 as follows:

 

Yard waste will not be collected during the weeks of December 24 and December 31.  Instead, Town crews will provide collection of excess garbage.

 

Christmas trees are being collected now through Jan. 15, 2008 at tree drop off centers at the following locations: Citizen’s Convenience Center, 313 North Dixon Avenue; Oak Grove Elementary School, 10401 Penny Road; and Green Hope Elementary School, 1303 Upchurch Meadow Road. Please remove all non-vegetative material (tinsel, lights, ornaments, etc) and leave trees only in specified areas.

 

The town-wide, curbside Christmas tree collection begins Mon., Jan. 7, 2008 at 7 a.m.   To ensure collection, please remove all non-vegetative material (tinsel, lights, ornaments, etc) and place your tree curbside by 7 a.m. on Jan. 7.  Vegetative material from wreaths or garland will also be collected, but must be separated from the metal or plastic base.
