TOWN OF CARY ADDS EXTRA COLLECTION FOR LATE LOOSE LEAVES

Due to the late leaf drop, the Town of Cary has scheduled a third leaf collection at no charge that will begin January 2.  If you have loose leaves that need collecting, place them curbside by 7 a.m. on the first scheduled day of collection for your area. Avoid fire hydrants and water meters.

If you would like to schedule an appointment for loose leaf collection during December and January, appointments are available for a cost of $100 per pick-up.  Appointments are available for collection from January 22 through March 31, 2008 at no charge. Call (919) 469-4090 to schedule a collection.

Throughout the year, properly prepared leaves are collected as regular yard waste collection. Place yard waste at the curb by 7 a.m. in reusable containers, paper bags or securely tied bundles. The maximum amount is 240 cubic feet - 8 feet long by 5 feet wide by 6 feet. Two men must be able to load it within 10 minutes. Yard waste will not be collected between Monday, December 24 and Friday, January 4, 2008 .

The Cary Convenience Center also accepts leaves. The center is on North Dixon Avenue , which is near downtown off West Chatham Street .
