SAFELIGHT CARY OPENS FOR MEDIA TOURS

WHAT:           The Town of Cary ’s SafeLight Cary red light camera office will be open to the media for demonstrations  

WHEN:          Monday, February 9, 2004 , 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
No appointment necessary  

WHERE:        SafeLight Cary office, 315 North Academy Street, Suite 204  

WHO:             SafeLight Cary police project manager and team members  

BACKGROUND:

On January 31, 2004 , the Town of Cary activated the first of 16 red light camera intersections with the goal of reducing accidents, improving traffic flow, and making the most efficient use of police resources.  From a small office in downtown Cary , SafeLight Cary team members can view and show those accused (by appointment) citations generated by the red light cameras via a secure Internet site.
