DRIVER CHARGED WITH MURDER

– The Town of
Cary Police Department
today charged the driver in a deadly
car crash on Christmas Eve with 2nd Degree Murder.
Baldomero Felix Reyes, 26, of
1014 Village Greenway Apartments in
Cary
was arrested this morning and taken to the
Wake
County
Public
Safety
Center
where bond was set at $500,000.
Just after
11
p.m.
on
December
24, 2003
, Reyes was driving his three passengers south on
Cary
Towne Boulevard
near
Principal
Lane
when he lost control of his 1996
White Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep
collided with a sign in the traffic island on
Principal
Lane
and continued off the right shoulder,
striking the curb and then a telephone pole guide wire.
The Jeep then rolled down an embankment and collided, upside down,
with a tree. Alcohol was a
factor in the crash.

Policarpo Zefra Antero, 36, died at the scene.
Also injured in the crash were the driver’s sister, Zenaido Felix
Reyes, 23, and Gabino Cayetano-Santiago, 30.
All were residents of the same Village Greenway apartment in
Cary
.
