CARY
TO OFFER A CLEARER VIEW TO DRIVERS

CARY , NC – “Mirror mirror on the pole, is it safe for me to roll?”  That’s the question motorists will be asking later today when they encounter the Town’s first Plexi-View Outdoor Convex Mirror being installed this morning at the corner of Lake Pine Drive and Picardy Village Place .

The four foot, 40 pound mirror will allow Picardy motorists to see traffic coming in both directions of Lake Pine .  Currently, motorists attempting this movement have extremely limited sight distance in both directions when entering Lake Pine .

In addition to being very durable, this acrylic product offers a reflection that’s 20 percent brighter and much less distorted than glass.

It’s also less expensive, costing Cary about $330.

“This simple device will greatly assist motorists attempting to enter Lake Pine Drive from Picardy ,” said Town of Cary Senior Engineer Dale Privette .  “Fortunately, there’s been only one accident here in the last three years, and we believe that the new mirror will help keep it that way.”
