FOURTH SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CARY JEWELRY STORE ROBBERY

 

CARY , NC Malcolm Jermaine Carry, 28, or 367 Litchford Road in Raleigh , has been arrested as the fourth suspect in the August 27, 2003 armed robbery of JM Edwards Fine Jewelry & Diamonds.  He was apprehended by members of the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force early this morning in Brooklyn , New York .  There is no word yet on when he will be extradited to North Carolina .  

Carry faces numerous charges, including:

Cary Police filed similar charges against Carry’s three accomplices.  Tracy Peterson and Craig Ryan Kirby, both of Raleigh, and Alex Samuel Folk of Smithfield are still being held at the Wake County Public Safety Center in Raleigh .  

At 10:43 a.m. on August 27, the Town of Cary received a 911 call from an employee at JM Edwards Fine Jewelry & Diamonds at 1137 Kildaire Farm Road stating that the store was being robbed.  The suspects fled the scene in a rented silver van.  Cary Police responded and a chase ensued, with the suspects firing at police.  The suspects abandoned their vehicle and were seen on foot at McDonald Woods Park between US 1/64 and Cary Parkway .  Police took three suspects into custody without incident.  According to a victim’s report, a fourth suspect— Carry – carjacked the Cary resident from the Seabrook Avenue area and had the victim drive him to a BP station in North Raleigh .  The victim said that the fourth suspect exited the vehicle without harming the victim and left the scene in a taxi.

  CARY IDENTIFIES FOURTH SUSPECT IN JEWELRY STORE ROBBERY  

CARY , NC – The Town of Cary Police Department has taken out warrants against Malcolm Jermaine Carry, 28, of 367 Litchford Road in Raleigh , the fourth suspect in yesterday’s armed robbery of JM Edwards Fine Jewelry & Diamonds.  Police warn that Carry may be armed and dangerous.  Carry is 5’9” tall, 190 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.  He faces numerous charges, including:

Cary Police filed similar charges last night against Carry’s three accomplices.  Tracy Peterson and Craig Ryan Kirby, both of Raleigh, and Alex Samuel Folk of Smithfield are being held under $100 million bond each at the Wake County Public Safety Center in Raleigh .

CHARGES SUSPECTS IN JEWELRY STORE ARMED ROBBERY  

CARY , NC – The Town of Cary Police Department has charged three men in an armed robbery of a Cary jewelry store.  They are:  


Alex Samuel Folk, 30, 303 North 6th Street, Smithfield, NC
Craig Ryan Kirby, 530 G, Sedgewick Drive, Raleigh, NC
Tracy Peterson, 23, 6701 Litchford Road, Raleigh, NC

Each suspect is charged with the following felonies:

Going Armed to the Terror of the Public, 1 count;
Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 1 count;
Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, 3 counts; and,
Attempted Murder, 3 counts.  

At 10:43 a.m. , Cary received a 911 call from an employee at JM Edwards Fine Jewelry & Diamonds at 1137 Kildaire Farm Road stating that they were being robbed.  The caller identified the suspect as black males noting that at least one had a handgun.  The suspects fled the scene in a rented silver van.  

Cary Police responded and a chase ensued, with the suspects firing at police.  The suspects abandoned their vehicle and were seen on foot at McDonald Woods Park between US 1/64 and Cary Parkway .  Police took three suspects into custody without incident.  

The suspects are being transferred from the Cary Police Department to the Wake County Public Safety Center in Raleigh .  

According to a victim’s report, a fourth suspect carjacked the Cary resident from the Seabrook Avenue area and had the victim drive him to a BP station in North Raleigh .  The victim said that the fourth suspect exited the vehicle without harming the victim and left the scene in a Tri-City cab.   

The fourth is still on the loose at this hour.  Considered armed and dangerous, he is a 5’10” black male, approximately 250lbs, wearing a gray shirt, dark pants, and tennis shoes.  The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.  If you see the suspect, call 911 immediately.

FOURTH SUSPECT LAST SEEN IN NORTH RALEIGH  

CARY , NC   The fourth suspect in an armed robbery of a Cary jewelry store is believed to have been last seen in North Raleigh the area of Spring Forest and Litchford Roads at a BP gas station.   

According to a victim’s report, the suspect car jacked the Cary resident from the Seabrook Avenue area and had the victim drive him to the BP station.  The suspect exited the vehicle without harming the victim and left the scene in a Tri-City cab.  The suspect is described as a 5’10” black male, approximately 250lbs, wearing a gray shirt, dark pants, and tennis shoes.  The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.  If you see the suspect, call 911 immediately.  

Cary Police are continuing the ground search of Seabrook Avenue for evidence and are interviewing the three suspects they have in custody.  

At 10:43 a.m. , Cary 911 received a call from an employee at JM Edwards, stating that they were being robbed.  The caller identified the suspects as black males noting that at least one had a handgun.  The suspects fled the scene in a rented silver van.  

Cary Police responded to the scene.  The suspects and the abandoned vehicle were later seen at McDonald Woods Park between US 1/64 and Cary Parkway . The suspects fired several shots at officers on the scene.  No officers were injured.

FOURTH SUSPECT SOUGHT IN CARY ARMED ROBBERY
 

CARY, NC –  Cary Police are searching for a fourth suspect in an armed robbery in Cary this morning at JM Edwards Fine Jewelry & Diamonds, 1137 Kildaire Farm Road.  The suspect is described as a 5’10” black male, approximately 250lbs, wearing a gray shirt, dark pants, and tennis shoes.  The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and may be attempting car jackings in the are of Seabrook Avenue in Cary .  If you see the suspect, call 911 immediately.  

At 10:43 a.m. , Cary 911 received a call from an employee at JM Edwards, stating that they were being robbed.  The caller identified the suspects as black males noting that at least one had a handgun.  The suspects fled the scene in a rented silver van.  

Cary Police responded to the scene.  The suspects and the abandoned vehicle were later seen at McDonald Woods Park between US 1/64 and Cary Parkway . The suspects fired several shots at officers on the scene.  

At 11:36 a.m. NC Highway Patrol shut down the southbound lane of US 1/64 from Walnut Street .   

At this time, three suspects are in custody.
