CARY
POLICE NARROW THE FIELD OF TRUCKS
IN HIT AND RUN CASE

CARY , NC The Town of Cary Police Department has determined that the vehicle used in this week’s hit and run in front of Cary High School is a green Ford F-150, not an F-250 as was thought to be a possibility earlier in the investigation.  The determination was made after detailed research into the type of grill that was damaged in the crash:

Cary Police continue to encourage citizens to be on the lookout for the truck.   Evidence left at the scene indicates the green Ford F-150 pick-up truck is between a 1999 and 2003 year model with a silver honeycomb grill.  The truck should have at least the upper right section of the grill broken out as well as other minor to moderate front end damage.

On October 20th, Kristina Grahn, 18, of 108 Drywood Place in Cary , was struck just before 7 a.m. by a green Ford F150 pickup truck driven by an older white man.  The driver fled the scene, leaving Grahn critically injured on Maynard Road .  Grahn was taken to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh in critical condition.  She is a senior at Cary High School .

Witnesses say that Grahn was in the pedestrian crosswalk when the suspect vehicle struck her as he was attempting a turn.  Parts of the truck’s front end were left on the street from the impact.  The suspect was last seen traveling west on Maynard Road towards Kildaire Farm Road .

Cary Crimestoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification and apprehension of the individual responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information may contact Crimestoppers at 226-CRIM(E), pressing option 3 for Cary or contact the Watch Commander at (919) 469-4016.  All calls will be kept CONFIDENTIAL at caller’s request.
