Positions Open on Cary ’s Festivals Committee

The Festivals Committee is seeking new members. The Festivals Committee oversees the production of the annual Lazy Daze and Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festivals. The available positions are at-large members appointed by an application process.  Interested Cary residents should complete an application by November 7, 2003 . Applications are available at the Town of Cary ’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Administrative office, 111 James Jackson Avenue or by request at
(919) 460-4061.

The Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival now has a new home at Fred G. Bond Metro Park and every April features the work of 150 local and regional artists and signals the beginning of spring. In addition this festival features local performing arts groups.

The Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival has become one of the South's premier festivals. Every year, on the last Saturday in August, an estimated 50,000 people travel to downtown Cary to enjoy the handiwork of the very best artists and craftsmen in the country. Each year visitors enjoy a mix of great food, over 400 local and national artisans, and a variety of local entertainment.  Proceeds from Lazy Daze are contributed to local non-profit organizations that work to make Cary a better place to live.

Be a part of Cary ’s largest annual events!  Members of the Festivals Committee work on the development and production of the Lazy Daze and the Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festivals. The Committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month and assists at the events. Committee members serve three year terms.
