HELP CREATE CARY’S VISION BY COMPLETING ONLINE POLL
CARY, NC – Proposed
principles and polices for the vision element chapter of the Town of Cary’s
Comprehensive Plan is the topic of the Town of Cary’s new Web poll – part of
enVision Cary, a community effort to solidify a vision for Cary for
the next 20 years. The policies
and principles resulting from enVision
Cary
will help guide key areas of Town planning, from transportation and growth and
development to schools and public involvement in the planning and development
process.
“The enVision
Cary
process began in early 2003 with the Cary Town Council at their annual planning
retreat,” said Planning Director Jeff Ulma.
“Now it's time to share the proposed vision element chapter with
citizens to get their reaction and suggestions for refining it.”
Anyone
with access to the Internet can complete the poll by logging on to www.townofcary.org
and selecting the enVision Cary
icon.
The poll will take about 20 minutes to complete, and respondents are
limited to one vote per poll. Those
without Internet service are invited to telephone the Town at (919) 469-4001 to
have a hard copy version of the Web poll mailed to them.
Deadline for participating in the enVision
Cary
poll is
November 30, 2003.
In
addition to the Web poll, the Town of Cary
will break new ground by holding an online public meeting via the Web.
The chat room, which will be moderated by Town planning staff, will
feature threaded discussions on each of the topic areas over several days
starting in mid-November.
The
Town will also hold a
community meeting in the coming weeks to report on what citizens said online and
to get additional citizen feedback before taking the Vision Element to the Town
Council for a vote early next year.
