CRIMESTOPPERS TIP LEADS TO ARREST OF ARMED ROBBER

CARY , NC – Thanks to a Crimestoppers tip, Cary Police have arrested Daniel Alan McCorquodale, 18, of Misty Woods Apartments in Cary in the October 8, 2003 armed robbery of the Tienda De Un Peso store at 1369 SE Maynard Road .  McCorquodale has been charged with Strong Arm Robbery.  

At about 1:30 p.m. on October 8th, a robber approached the clerk at Tienda De Un Peso, produced a knife, threatened the clerk, and demanded money.  The robber fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.   No one was hurt.    The suspect was described as a white male, 18 years old, tall and thin, wearing a gray wool cap, a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white athletic shoes.  

A person called Cary Crime Stoppers on October 15 and provided the information necessary to identify the suspect.  No decision yet on how much this caller will be paid for his/her information.  

“In addition to assuring the public that we believe this crime is solved, we wanted to point out the value of the Crime Stoppers program,” said Sergeant Travis Baker of the Town of Cary Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit. 

Cary Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification and apprehension of individuals responsible for certain crimes.  All calls are kept confidential at the caller’s request.
