DRIVERS: PLEASE DON’T BLOCK INTERSECTIONS
Those traveling in and through Cary are reminded that it is against state and local law to block signalized intersections by moving into the intersection when it is clear that your vehicle will not be able to clear the intersection because of stacking traffic. Even if the light is green or yellow, you should not enter an intersection if it is obvious that vehicles in front of you will cause you to block the intersection because you cannot move forward. To keep holiday traffic moving and to ensure public safety, Cary Police officers are actively enforcing this law, the violation of which will result in a ticket and court costs of $100 but no drivers license points.
