Mad-Dash Babysitting (ages 3-11)
Friday, November 15 & 22, 5:30 - 9:30 p.m., Herbert C. Young Community Center.
Cary Teen Council sponsors this evening for children while their parents shop, spend and wrap! Children will have a light dinner, enjoy simple craft projects, see a holiday movie, play games and have tons o’ fun! Space is very limited! Pre-register in person at the Herbert C. Young Community Center. Children need to be potty-trained. Registration fee made payable directly to Cary Teen Council. Call (919) 460-4965 for more information.

Trim-the-Tree Party (ages 5-11)
Tuesday, December 3, 4 - 6 p.m., Herbert C. Young Community Center
Help us trim our trees at the Herbert C. Young Community Center! Easy ornament craft projects that will be used to decorate the trees in time for Santa’s Workshop! Music, refreshments and fun, plus you get to take an ornament home for your own tree! Please register with course code 11283, using any EZ-REG method. Call (919) 460-4965 for more information.

Cary Teen Council’s annual Christmas Celebration. Drop-in activity featuring Make It/Take It Holiday craft projects, light refreshments and live entertainment. Special visitor from the NORTH POLE! Call the Herb Young Community Center (after Nov. 18) at (919) 460-4965 for the time of Santa’s arrival and the performance time for scheduled entertainment. While at Santa’s Workshop, support the Cary Teen Council’s food drive by sending each child with two non-perishable food items. All contributions will be given to the Food Bank of N.C. Call

Holiday Tree Lighting & Page-Walker Open House
Sunday, December 8, 6 - 8 p.m., Town Hall Campus
This community celebration of the season becomes more popular with each year. This festive night features talented members from our community onstage in front of the beautiful cedar tree. After the outside festivities, join your neighbors at the historic Page-Walker Arts & History Center, decorated for the holidays by the Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel. Visit the Cary Heritage Museum, view "then and now" photographs of Cary environs, enjoy music, refreshments, and hands-on activities that celebrate the holiday season. Free & open to the public. Cary Senior Center Annual Holiday Party/Tree Trimming

8th Annual Cary Kwanzaa
Friday, December 27, 1 - 6 p.m., Bond Park Community Center (NEW LOCATION)
Cary Kwanzaa is a communal, cultural celebration that honors African-American people and their heritage. It is a celebration for all people, focusing on the family, friends and the fruits of the earth. During Kwanzaa, people are invited to ponder the Nguzo Saba, seven powerful principles derived from African heritage, as a means of taking stock, celebrating achievements, and entering the future refreshed and renewed. The public is invited to the Karamu program, based on a model from Dr. Maulana Ron Karenga, founder of the seven-day cultural celebration. A guest speaker, performers and a community market are features of the program. Cary Kwanzaa is co-sponsored by the Ujima Group, Inc. and the Town of Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources.
