CARY, NC – A ruptured gas line is causing authorities to close and set up detours around

9251 Chapel Hill Road, an area just west of the intersection of Northwest Maynard Road and Chapel Hill Road. Necessary repairs will require excavation of a portion of the road, which could take several hours. Motorists are advised to avoid the area entirely this afternoon. There are no reports of injuries or evacuations at this time. Just outside Cary town limits, the scene is under the command of Lt. Johnson of the Western Wake Fire Command.
