LEARN TO TURN YOUR HOUSE AND YARD SCRAPS INTO A STEAMING, FERTILIZING FRENZY
CARY, NC – Stop bagging those grass clippings and table scraps and start making them work for you in your own back yard.
Make plans now to attend one of the Town of Cary’s beginner composting classes and learn just how simple it is to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and instead produce rich and natural soil amendments to nourish plants and shrubs. The workshops - September 21, October 5, and October 19 - begin at 9:30 a.m. and are all being held at the Bond Park Compost Education Center, 801 High House Road. From 11 a.m. - noon, Earth Machine compost bins will be on sale for $30 - cash or check only.
"While most households have finished compost in about three months, it can take as little as two weeks to see results from your compost pile," said Town of Cary Recycling Coordinator Karen Hales. "It really depends on how much attention you devote to your compost pile."
