Red Ribbon Poster Contest - Awards Ceremony

 

WHAT: An awards ceremony to recognize 5th-8th grade participants and winners in the 4th annual Red Ribbon Poster Contest, this year’s theme being "I've Got Better Things to do Than Drugs"

BACKGROUND:
For the 4th year, Cary Police School Resource Officers have taught the drug free lifestyle message in local elementary and middle schools. The Town of Cary partners with Creating Assets Reaching Youth and Building Youth Assets to coordinate the event. The Red Ribbon Poster Contest promotes participation by expressing the theme through visual art. There were approximately 2000 entries from this year’s contest among 13 elementary and 3 middle schools. Over 6,000 students signed pledge cards to live a healthy life.
