FEMALE GRINCH IS STEALING MORE THAN HOLIDAY CHEER IN CARY
CARY, NC Cary Police are asking for your help as they search for a woman believed to be targeting elderly residents of apartment complexes and townhome communities. In the three thefts that occurred December 10, 11, and 12, the woman asked elderly residents to let her enter their home in order to use the telephone. Once inside, the suspect is believed to have distracted the resident and taken whatever valuables lying within easy reach. Items taken thus far include purses, wallets, driver's licenses, and credit cards.
The suspect is described as a white female, 56" to 58" tall, 110 -115 pounds, with dark brown or sandy colored hair. She has a bruise around her right eye. Police believe that the same person is responsible for similar crimes in adjacent towns.
"While we know our citizens want to be good neighbors, its imperative that citizens not allow strangers to enter their homes," said Cary Police Investigator Randy Swallow.
Cary Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the
identification and apprehension of the individuals responsible for any of these
crimes. Anyone with information may contact Crimestoppers at 226-CRIME
(226-2746); for Cary Police press 3 at the prompt or call (919) 469-4017. All
calls will be kept CONFIDENTIAL.
