CELEBRATE DREAMFEST 2002 IN CARY

CARY, NC—The Town of Cary’s annual celebration of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr-- Dreamfest 2002-- will take place in downtown Cary throughout the weekend of January 18 – 20. Dreamfest 2002 activities are designed to educate, inspire, and challenge citizens to create a welcoming, inclusive community that operates in an atmosphere of cooperation, respect, and understanding throughout the year.

Celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at a gala featuring art, music, and refreshments. This semi-formal evening begins the series of events commemorating King’s contributions to American life.

Join vocal talent from the community as they bring "one song" to share. Pianist and composer Greg McCallum will present his acclaimed composition "Hymn Quilt" as the evening’s centerpiece.

UNITY MARCH & RALLY

To commemorate the non-violent means of protest used during the civil rights movement, join in the Unity March from the Fidelity Bank Plaza in downtown Cary to the Herbert C. Young Community Center, the site of the Rally. Rev. Vernon King, grandson of Martin Luther King, Jr., will speak at the Rally. The Rally also features a Community Expo and the Dream of Achievement Awards.
