DOWNTOWN TO CELEBRATE NEW PLAN,
ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO BE HONORED
CARY, NC –This Thursday afternoon, the Cary Town Council and the Heart of Cary Association will celebrate the work and accomplishments of Cary citizens who brought to fruition Cary’s new downtown roadmap, the Town Center Area Plan (TCAP). The appreciation celebration will begin 4:30 PM in the center of Cary, the Fidelity Bank Plaza at the intersection of Chatham and Academy streets.
"TCAP is very important to Council and to Cary, and it couldn’t have happened without the dedication of citizens living and working in the area who gave their time and ideas to the process," said Town Clerk Sue Rowland.
Adopted by Town Council on August 9, 2001, TCAP is a detailed master plan for Cary’s downtown and surrounding neighborhoods, a policy document representing the Town’s vision for the type of environment ultimately desired in the town center area. An amendment to the Town’s Land Use Plan, TCAP provides long-range land use, transportation, parking, housing, parks and greenways recommendations for the plan area. The plan vision is to make the Town Center area a unique, vibrant, dynamic, pedestrian-friendly location and a regional destination.
The TCAP may be viewed on the Town’s website at
