Leon Bates and Chris Brubeck’s Trio
One of America’s leading pianists, Leon Bates and Chris Brubeck’s jazz
trio "Triple Play" will open the Town of Cary’s Marvelous Music
Series with a joint concert on Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 7:30 PM at the Herb
Young Community Center. Bates has received critical acclaim for his concerts at
Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and the Hollywood Bowl. Triple Play is led by
Chris Brubeck, son of the legendary jazz great Dave Brubeck. Please call

Auditions for Town of Cary’s Holiday Tree Lighting Show
The Town of Cary is seeking residents and groups to perform at The Town’s
popular, community-wide Tree Lighting Celebration. Auditions will be held
Wednesday, October 10 and Thursday, October 11 for the event
occurring on Sunday, December 2nd, 2001. The variety-style format
will include all types of performances by performers of all ages. Community
groups or solo performers are encouraged to call 919-462-3864 to schedule an
