Cary utility customers planning to sow Fescue seed or plant Fescue sod this fall may register for an exception to the Town’s Alternate Day Watering Ordinance. Starting September 15 and through November, customers will be eligible for a three-week exemption between September 15 and November 30 to the Alternate Day Watering Ordinance, enabling them to moisten seed or sod daily. Although experts highly recommend using drought-tolerant summer grasses, those who seed lawns with fescue should use drought-tolerant varieties such as Confederate blend, Enviroblend, or Triblend. Customers will receive via US mail a registration form to post on their mailbox so neighbors and Town staff know they have received an exception to the ordinance. Call 469-4090 to register.
