Cary Police Officer George F. Almond is at Duke Medical Center in serious, stable condition after being shot on October 10^th. He has not had surgery to date.

Detailed information recently circulated about his condition, including but not limited to his state of consciousness and vision, are unconfirmed and often incorrect.

At the request of Officer Almond’s family, media should contact the hospital for medical information, not the Town of Cary, including but not limited to the police department. In this regard, there will be no public updates about Officer Almond coming from the Town of Cary following this Fact Check.
