HEAVY STORM
DEBRIS HAMPERS
CARYS REGULAR YARD WASTE COLLECTION;
SPECIAL ARRANGMENTS MADE TO HELP RESIDENTS
CARY, NC Extra crews and overtime hours are helping the Town of Cary cope with last weeks storm debris collection, but the going is slow. Carys Public Works & Utilities crews were unable to complete regular yard waste collection on Monday, August 21st and are asking residents to please leave their remaining storm debris at the curb while crews continue to work this week to collect it. Debris should be a maximum of 4 inches in diameter and 4 feet maximum in length. As always, loose debris should be securely tied into bundles.
Citizens who have limbs larger than 4" in diameter or longer than 4 should place tree debris at the curbside by 5PM on Monday, August 28th AND call the Public Works & Utility Department, at 469-4090, to report the need for large debris collection. Citizens must also call before Monday to make an appointment for later collection if they will be unable to get tree debris to the curb by 5pm on Monday. PWUT Crews, with backhoes and dump trucks, are collecting the large tree debris on a daily basis. Large tree debris should be collected within 5 days after receiving the citizen request.
Cary citizens may also take vegetative storm debris of any size to the designated location at the Town of Carys Citizen Convenience Center located at the end of North Dixon Ave. The tree debris drop-off site will be open each day through Friday, September 1st during daylight hours.
Citizens can take large debris, including stumps, to the following landfills for a fee:
Currin Brothers Landfill, 4525 Sunset Lake Rd, 876-1138
Holly Spring Landfill, 7130 New Landfill Dr, 362-6495
Rowland Landfill, 3000 Gresham Lake Rd, 876-1877
