CARY HOLIDAY SEASON KICKOFF THIS WEEKEND

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary’s celebration of the holiday season will begin on Sunday evening, December 3rd with the holiday tree lighting, a concert and open house. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM in downtown Cary outside Town Hall, 316 North Academy Street downtown.

"This event really helps to bring our community together," said Town Manager Bill Coleman.

NBC-17’s Donna Gregory will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies this year, and Gus Stevens has been chosen to flip the switch to light the 35-foot-tall Eastern Red Cedar. Entertainment will include: North Star from Northwoods Elementary School, The Impressions from West Cary Middle School, the Cary Academy Upper School Choir, other acts from the local community, and the Cary Town Band.

Immediately following the tree lighting, the public is invited to a reception at the Page Walker Arts & History Center, located just behind Town Hall on Ambassador Loop. There, Moment’s Notice will provide live music, and free refreshments will be available.
