FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASECARY, NC – About three-dozen Town of Cary crews and contract workers will be working overnight to keep major roadways passable during this rare, Pre-Thanksgiving snow.
Cary Public Works officials report at least two inches of snow thus far at the Town’s operations center in central Cary.
With temperatures expected to remain at freezing tonight, plows are being brought in from Garner to clear roadway slush and ice so that Town crews can follow with sand and salt.
While roads are passable and Please do not drive unless it is absolutely necessary. There have been about 10 weather-related traffic accidents today; no one has been seriously hurt.
A large number of Cary citizens are without power along Kildaire Farm Road and Cary Parkway and northward.
