ATWOOD TO BE HONORED FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE

CARY -- School children, police officers, and public officials are just a few of the groups that will be on hand Wednesday evening to honor Cary resident Calvin Atwood for his years of service to the community. Atwood served as the school crossing guard at Northwoods Elementary School from 1991-1996. A former US Army veteran, Atwood worked for Atlantic Ice Company for 43 years.

"Mr. Atwood has been an important part of the lives of many people in our community," said Cary Police Chief Dave Fortson. "We simply could not let his service go unnoticed."

The public is invited to attend Atwood’s reception which will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, in front of Town Hall Building A. The reception precedes the 7:30 p.m. Town Council meeting.
