2009 'Cary Cup' Table Tennis Championship
March 19 - 22, 2009

Bond Park Community Center

The Cary Table Tennis Association (Cary TTA) and the Town of Cary host the ninth annual Cary Cup Table Tennis Championship, a nationally and internationally-recognized event.

Some of the top table tennis athletes in the United States, Canada, Europe and South America will compete for more than $12,000 in total prize money in largest round robin table tennis competition in the USA. The tournament also features doubles events and a classic table tennis (hardbat) event reminiscent of table tennis played in the 1940’s. Spectators for the tournament are welcome, and admission is free for any portion of the tournament.

For beginner participants, several opportunities are available for play:

Thursday, March 19 - There will be a beginners clinic conducted at 4-5 p.m. (You must register in advance with the Town of Cary for this clinic). Additionally, a U4200 Doubles event will follow starting at 6 p.m.

Friday, March 20 - There are five events scheduled, including the US Classic Open Hardbat event (12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.), Over 55 Doubles (noon -2 p.m.), Under 2500 Doubles (2-4 p.m.), the U1350 round robin (5-8 p.m.), and Open Doubles (6-8:30 p.m.). The U1350 round robin is exclusively designed for beginners of all ages – but spots are limited so sign up early!

Saturday, March 21 - A giant round robin (the main event) will be held all day with the three lower groups finishing by 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 22 - The top group of national and international stars will compete for the main prize money at 10 a.m.
