ASL for Budding Babies: Parent Workshop (Adult Class)
Come and learn how to enrich your child’s speech and language, boost vocabulary, increase self-confidence and stimulate intelligence through the use of American Sign Language (ASL). This workshop is designed to introduce parents/caregivers to the benefits of using ASL with pre-verbal infants and young children. Young cyclists will learn the ‘rules of the road’ and more as they complete the Cary Bicycle Rodeo. Designed to instill cycling knowledge and confidence, the rodeo features simulations of real-life situations likely to be encountered by the young rider. Stations like ‘Chaos Corners’, Dodge-em Drive’, ‘Demon Driveway’ and ’Rock Dodge/ Thread the Needle’ will provide fun, yet challenging opportunities to improve skills and increase knowledge. Learn the basic technique for creating wreaths and garlands. Learn these techniques now and be ready before the Holiday season. These skills can be transferred to creating wreaths and garlands that are in season now as well. We’ll use actual tree trimmings from a NC Mountain Christmas tree farm as well as other natural materials to create wreaths that can be put on the front door right now! A “mad scientist” will lead the first hour of the party, leaving the second hour for refreshments and gifts.
Cost per party is $175 for Cary residents and $205
for non-residents.
