Ice Cream Social FREE

This annual event is tasty and fun for all! Not only do we get to enjoy delicious ice cream treats, but we are entertained by the Bond Park day camp children. Co-sponsored by Ashworth Drugs and the Rotary Club of Cary. Registration ends Friday, June 27, 2008.

Trips

Half-Day Getaway Trips

Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Fee covers transportation via Chartered Bus and admissions only. We leave from the Cary Senior Center parking lot. Meals are not included in price of trips. Trips go rain or shine!

Afternoon with the Durham Bulls

Enjoy America’s favorite game with an afternoon watching the Durham Bulls Baseball Club. Cost includes transportation to the game and ticket in the covered terrace seats behind home plate. This is an outside venue, dress for the warm weather! Lunch and purchases are on your own. Register by June 11.

Museum of Life and Science

Building on a 60-year record of success, the Museum of Life and Science has grown indoors and outdoors to provide engaging experiences for all ages with science and the natural world. Registration includes admission, train ride and transportation. Museum has indoor and outdoor exhibits; dress for warm weather and mixed terrain. Lunch will be on your own at Grayson’s Cafe (onsite at the museum).

NC Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores

The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores takes you across the state on an aquatic journey from the mountains to the sea. The Aquarium recently underwent a $25 million renovation that tripled its size to 93,000 square feet. Enjoy lunch at the Sanitary Fish Market and dinner at the Robbins Nest in Smithfield. Fee includes transportation, admission to the Aquarium, and dinner at Robbins Nest Restaurant. Lunch at the Sanitary Fish Market is not included in the price.

Education

Beginning Celtic Fiddle

Fiddle from scratch! Learn the basics of playing a fiddle, from how to hold the fiddle and bow to playing one-octave scales. By the end of the class, you will learn several easy Irish and Scottish tunes. The emphasis is on getting a good start to learning the instrument so students can feel comfortable playing slowly in an informal setting with others. Students should have a violin and bow by first
class (purchase, borrow or rent). The instructor will meet with you to rent violin and bow if necessary.
