Questions, Comments, and Suggestions Raised During Meeting

1

Would an addition to the existing building supply the additional space necessary to accommodate all the space has been requested by town staff and local cultural arts groups? Can it be 2 to 3 floors ?

2

Will Jordan Hall and Page-Walker Center still house cultural arts programs when Old Cary Elementary is completed?

3

How will parking needs be covered between the time Old Cary Elementary is completed and the future planned parking deck is completed? How big is that deck planned to be? (600+/-)

4

Are any plans being considered to minimize the length of uncovered arrival paths? Don’t want to have to walk long distances in inclement weather.

5

Have you considered shuttle service from existing parking decks as an option? How big is that deck? (480 +/-)

6

Will overall ADA accessibility be addressed?

7

Will short-term and long-term ADA parking be addressed? How?

8

The building’s front façade is a very important icon for the Town of Cary and I suggest that particular attention should be paid to its repair, such as:

1) The current columns should be restored to their original size/proportion; 2) Additions/Extensions to the east and west wings should be considered.

9

The design team must have a well defined ‘vision’ for the renovation of this facility. This building is an important symbol for the Town of Cary and this project needs to reflect the unique history and character of this place.

10

Is the intent to treat this project as a ‘restoration / preservation’ project?

11

Is there enough physical space to add a fly loft to the existing stage?

12

Is it planned to have sloped floor seating in the renovated theater?

13

The original columns should be put back on the front façade.

14

How much budget is available for this project? How much will it cost?

15

How much has been spent so far on the previous studies that concern this building?

16

If I want to use the building when it opens how do I go about that? Will there be rental charges?

17

Had delivery by large tractor-trailers been studied yet? Will this be possible?

18

How much have you been working with Wake County Public Schools to coordinate and plan the work that needs to happen adjacent to their property?

19

If there is a new performing arts center planned for the future, do we need to accommodate similar functions in this building?
