Green Level Stream Restoration Banner

Overview

The Town of Cary is completing a study between Green Level Church Road and Green Level West Road along an unnamed tributary to White Oak Creek. The proposed project is located in the Jordan Lake Watershed and is a distance of 2 miles.

The goal of the study is to develop a stream restoration plan, recommend areas for open space preservation, and develop plans for a greenway along the stream corridor.

Details

See a map of the study area location.
Proposed greenway locations

The planning effort will take approximately one year to complete.  When completed, the plan will include a natural communities inventory; wetland inventory; topographic and other surveys; greenway plan development and stream restoration plan.  This project is very similar to the White Oak Stream Restoration and Greenway Project.

Public Input

A community open house will be held on Sept. 13 at Crosspointe Church, 6911 Carpenter Fire Station Road, from 4-7 p.m to present the final plans. This meeting will be in conjunction with the Green Level Historic District Preservation Initiative.

Budget

A grant of $280,020 has been awarded from the Natural Resources Conservation Service of the United States Department of Agriculture to complete this project.
