Lazy DazeOver the past 30 years, the Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival has become one of the South's premier festivals. On the fourth Saturday in August, an
estimated 60,000 people gather in downtown Cary for the best in arts and
crafts, food, and entertainment.

Information Festival Visitors Need to Know

Restrictions: For the safety and comfort of everyone, animals are prohibited in the festival area. No roller skates or roller blades, skateboards, bicycles, etc. will be allowed. No tossing of balls, Frisbees or other objects will be permitted at the event.

Restrooms: Air-conditioned restroom trailers are available in front of Fire Department headquarters on North Academy Street and at the east end of Park Street. Additional facilities are on both ends of Chatham Street and in front of the Cary Library on South Academy Street.

Parking: Free parking is available at the Cary Town Hall Parking Deck – just an easy two-block walk to the festival! The deck is located on Wilkinson Avenue between Cary Town Hall and the Herbert C. Young Community Center.

Handicapped parking is available at Cary Town Hall beside the railroad tracks and at the Cary Elementary School entrance on Kildaire Farm Road. Both of these locations are approximately one block from the Festival area.

Free parking is also available at Cary Towne Center mall. Signs at the mall direct festival-goers to the parking area. Free shuttle buses take them to the festival entrance at Cary Elementary School.

Street closings & parking restrictions

Handicap Accessibility: All artists, concessions and entertainment areas are on ground level. Handicapped parking is marked in the festival parking area at Cary Towne Center. Wheelchair accessible buses are available.

Lost & Found: Items found during the festival may be turned in at either of the two information booths located at Cary Elementary School and the corner of Academy and Chatham streets. Items may be claimed there during the festival or afterward at the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources offices at Cary Town Hall – 316 N. Academy St.

How to get to the Festival

Shuttle Bus

The easiest way to get to Lazy Daze is to take one of the free shuttle buses which run every 15 minutes from Cary Towne Center at Sears to Cary Elementary School. The first bus departs at approximately 8:30 a.m. and the last bus leaves Cary Elementary at 5:30 p.m. Cary Towne Center is at the corner of Maynard Road and Walnut Street. Cary Towne Center can best be reached via Interstate 40 exit 291. Follow signs to festival parking lots.

From I-40 to Cary Towne Center (Festival Shuttle Bus Pick-up)
Exit 291-Cary
Take Cary Towne Boulevard/Walnut Street west to Cary Towne Center for shuttle bus.

Exit 293-A US 1-S/64-W-Take Walnut Street exit
Follow Walnut Street West to Cary Towne Center (Walnut & Maynard Streets) for shuttle bus.

Exit 287-N Harrison Avenue
Follow Harrison and take a left on Maynard Road. Maynard Road intersects both Cary Town Boulevard and Walnut Street, where Cary Towne Center is located.

Exit 290-NC 54
Follow NC 54 and take a left on Maynard Road. Maynard Road intersects both Cary Town Boulevard and Walnut Street, where Cary Towne Center is located.
