This is the 14th of bimonthly reports on Web use statistics for townofcary.org. The first report was in July 2001.

I. Summary of Activity

Web site activity during September 2003 was the third highest of the 14 months tracked thus far. Average daily page views were up 4.5 percent over July 2003 and nearly 20 percent greater than September 2002.

The Frequently Asked Questions page of the Public Works & Utilities section had an unusually high number of visits with 4,915. Hurricane Isabel accounted for several of the most requested pages during September. The Severe Weather page had 3,455 page views, the news releases index 2,688 and the Hurricane Isabel news releases file 1,671 page views.

Sixty-one pages were visited at least 500 times during September compared with 66 pages in July and 58 in March. The list includes a news release from 2001 among the most-visited pages. The reason for this anomaly has not yet been explained.

> Several requests for deletion from the e-mail subscription list
> A request for Cary map information than is available through Maps Online
> A request for information about a greenway project
> A complaint about not being able to search for noise rules on barking dog (location of Search button provided to citizen)
> A request for a non-flash option for the home page to shorten loading time (submitted Aug. 20, before redesigned home page uploaded)
> An Aug. 6 complaint that recreation program information was outdated. (The complaint was received two days after uploading of Fall 2003 information, but before a cover page could be changed.)
