Web site activity during September 2002 was the second heaviest of any month tracked thus far. The average requests for pages was 6.7 percent lower than in July, breaking a string of five consecutive months of increased activity. Even so, September usage was significantly greater than in any of the months other than July.

The calendar may at least partially explain the modest decrease over July. There were five Sundays during September, one more than in July, and weekends typically are far less busy than weekdays. For example, usage on Monday, Sept. 9 was more than twice that of Sunday, Sept. 1 (10,231 requests for pages compared with 4,954 requests).

July 2002 had five Tuesdays and five Wednesdays compared with four each during September. After Monday, the busiest days of the week typically are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Although the order varied, the five most-requested pages during September were the same as those in July. The most popular continue to be employment, recreation and the search function. The Amphitheatre at Regency Park continues to be the most popular section on a specific program or service.
