I. Summary of Activity Average daily page views were down 12.5 percent from September 2003. However, they were 19.6 percent greater than in November 2002. November is a comparatively slow month for Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources. It falls at the end of a program cycle (registration starts in early December), the Amphitheatre at Regency Park is closed, and there are no major events. Several Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources pages are among the most visited on townofcary.org, so departmental activity cycles affect Web usage more than most other Town operations. Page views for Recreation second tier and the Parks Recreation and Cultural Resources home page combined were twice in May 2003 what they were in November – 13,341 compared with 6,690. The total for the two pages was 11,330 in July 2003 and 10,064 in September. The home page of the Amphitheatre at Regency Park section had 7,343 visits in July 2003 compared with 529 in November. Recent employee recruitment by the Human Resources Department reflects a similar activity cycle, with the department reporting fewer job postings in November. (The Job Openings page consistently is the most viewed page on the Web site, and the Employment second tier is often the second most viewed page.) Page views for the Job Openings and Employment second tier pages combined were 24,472 in July 2003, 21,467 in September and 17,604 in November. Web site activity during November 2003 received a boost from the Annexation section that went online Nov. 24. The overview page received 3,058 visits in one week. Page views for the annexation map and initial news release were 700 and 598, respectively. Throughout the Web site, 57 pages were viewed at least 500 times during November compared with 61 pages in September 2003 and 66 in July 2003. II.
