This is the 29th of bimonthly reports on Web use statistics for townofcary.org. The first report was in July 2001.

Summary of Activity

Average daily page views decreased by about 34 percent since the record high in March 2006 but were 5 percent greater than in May 2005. The decrease may be attributed in part to there being only one council meeting during the month of April: council agendas and related topics make up a significant number of monthly page views. Also worthy to note is the decrease in page views from March to May in 2005, perhaps signifying a seasonal trend.

Throughout the Web site, 122 pages were viewed at least 500 times during May 2006, compared with 147 pages in March and 98 pages in May 2005.

  • Among the most requested pages were the Town’s Water Conservation pages, a rise in views that may be attributed in part to regional drought concerns and the summer ‘Beat the Peak’ campaign. The Rain Barrels page garnered 1,071 hits from April 1-May 31, while the Irrigation page received 852 hits from visitors.
  • The Bond Park Web page moved up into the Top Ten most viewed pages, receiving 8,890 hits (more than 5,000 in May alone). This rise in views may have stemmed in part from the Animal Planet’s use (and advertisement) of the park in May and renovations on the Bond Park Lakefront, a project scheduled for completion in June 2006. The lakefront project page itself was viewed 669 times from April 1-May 31.

The total number of pages viewed at least 500 times ranged from 81 to 147 between May 2005 and May 2006.
