| Web Use Report January 2003 This is the 10th of bimonthly reports on Web use statistics for townofcary.org. The first report was in July 2001. I. Summary of Activity Web site activity during January 2003 was the heaviest of any month tracked thus far and was nearly 29 percent greater than the previous report of November 2002. The sharp rise in average daily requests for pages (8,863) followed two consecutive decreases in activity and exceeded the previous high of 8,403 in July 2002. The number of pages receiving at least 500 visits rose from 42 in November 2002 to 56 in January 2003. Interest in Web pages about Town of Cary jobs rose sharply in January over November. Visits to the Job Openings and Job Application pages and the Employment second tier increased by 77 percent (a combined 27,560 versus 15,604). Visits to the News second tier and the news releases page shot upward by an even greater percentage - 85 percent (2,983 versus 1,610). Bad weather apparently accounted for much of the increase. The Winter Weather page received 1,286 hits during January. The busiest day of the month was Jan. 24, the day after snowfall. Page visits that day (18,732) were 62 percent greater than the next busiest day of the month - the day of the snowfall. The Recreation second tier and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources home page also had much heavier traffic in January than in November. Five recreation league pages were among the pages with at least 500 visits during January compared with one page in November.
