K9 Training

Max received K9 training in Angier at Mid-Atlantic Canine Consultants, one of the best K-9 training schools on the East Coast. The owner, R.O. Rogers, is a certified canine instructor and nationally recognized court expert.

Rogers started his K9 career in 1971 as a handler for the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C. He worked as a handler until 1978 when he was selected to be a K9 instructor. When Rogers retired from the Washington police force in 1988, he was the senior K9 instructor for a 50-person K9 unit.

Over the years, Rogers has been involved in attending and teaching K9 seminars. He also has been instrumental in judging field trials and working with the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) to improve police service dogs at the regional and national levels. In 1989, Rogers established his training school in North Carolina.

Rogers trains K9 teams to meet USPCA standards. These standards are recognized by every court in the country. Rogers will testify on behalf of K9 teams that graduate from his program in the event of civil litigation.
