Overview Customers can obtain billing information by registering their utility account number and PIN, a Personal Identification Number they receive from the Finance Department. This Web page walks you through registration. Registration is only for customers who want access to their account over the computer. Please Note: Effective July 1, 2008, customers who wish to pay their utility bill online must use Web browsers that support 128-bit encryption, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or later. If you receive an error message while trying to process a credit card transaction, you will need to upgrade your browser. Please visit the Web site that provides upgrades to your browser software and download the latest version. First Time Users – Register by Following the 5 Steps Below Registration Step 1 Call the Customer Service office in the Finance Department at (919) 469-4050 to find out how to receive your PIN. (It is printed on the top portion of your utility bill.) Step 2 Click the blue Utility Billing Online button on the left side of this Web page to begin registering. Step 3 Enter your utility account number (dash included) and your PIN. Click the Sign On Button. Step 4 Choose a new PIN, any combination of five letters and numbers. Type in a hint to help you remember your new password and also enter your email address. Click Submit. Confirmation of your registration will arrive by email. Click "Exit". This will return you to the Town of Cary home page. Step 5 When you receive the Email Address Verification message, click the link provided in the email. Enter your Account Number and new PIN on the page that appears. Click Sign-On. Congratulations! You can now click the provided link to look up your account.
