Surplus equipment typically includes cars, trucks, heavy
equipment, and
miscellaneous small items that the Town no longer needs or uses.
Contact the N.C. State Surplus Property Agency to obtain
surplus equipment.
The Town of Cary disposes of the vast majority of such equipment through

The Purchasing
Division of the Town’s Finance Department also auctions
equipment about once or twice a year. Wester
Auction & Reality conducts the
auctions, which are announced.
Found & Seized Property
Finance Department auctions typically do not include
found and seized
property, which is auctioned separately by the Police Department.
