The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is the official statement of the Town's financial position on June 30, at the close of the fiscal year. It has four parts:
- Overview - Listing of officials; brief history of Cary; statement of Town government values and responsibilities; organizational chart
- Financial Section - Management analysis; basic financial statements; required supplementary pension information; associated independent auditor's report
- Statistical Section - Comparative data, graphs and other information on taxes, revenues, expenditures, debt, socioeconomic data
- Compliance Section - Schedules of federal and state financial assistance; independent auditor's reports on compliance with internal control and related financial assistance requirements; debt coverage calculations in the Utility Systems Enterprise Fund as required with 2001 revenue bonds; continuing disclosure requirements
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is also available for inspection at the Cary Public Library or at Finance Department offices.
