APPLICATION: 05-SP-013, Cary Chamber of Commerce and Triangle Building Association Parking Lot Revisions
Summary: The plan proposes renovations in conjunction with development of the adjacent Triangle Transit Authority site. The travel aisle through the Chamber of Commerce site and some parking shall be built by the TTA. Modifications include the addition of a new fire lane of 190’ on the Cary Chamber of Commerce property and 460’ on the Triangle Building Associated property, enhancements to landscaping to screen parking areas and prevent glare from headlights. This site will provide 27 parking spaces on the Cary Chamber of Commerce property and 71 parking spaces on the Triangle Building Associates property. The net increase in impervious surface area is .14 acres. No alterations to the buildings or utilities are proposed.

Development Plan Issues:
The purpose of a rezoning is to
evaluate the appropriateness of this land use for these parcels of land.
Specific development requirements related to the technical aspects of
land development, such as access, storm water management, road improvements,
utility line placement, road connectivity and landscape plantings, are not
considered during the rezoning process. However,
all of these development issues must be addressed for compliance with existing
requirements spelled out in the Land Development Ordinance (LDO) when the site
or subdivision plan is submitted. All
