This project provides for water line relocations and adjustments related to the North Carolina Department of Transportation's (NCDOT) US 1/64 Improvements project between Walnut Street and Tryon Road. See a map.

Overview
This project provides funding for 4,500 linear feet of 16-inch waterline from north of Carpenter Fire Station Road to Alston Avenue. This project is required to provide water to the expanding northwestern service area and to close loops, in conjunction with other projects, to provide redundancy of service in the event of line breaks or high fire fighting demand.

Overview
This project provides 2,600 linear feet of 16-inch water line along Kildaire Farm Road between Cary Parkway and Queensferry Drive to reinforce the existing water line at that location. This project provides additional water service capacity to meet periods of peak demand and high fire-fighting flow. The project also facilitates operation of existing storage tanks and near-term proposed tanks in the central pressure zone.

This project provides 9,200 linear feet of 16-inch water line along Pierce Olive Road from Holly Springs Road to Optimist Farm Road. The project is required to provide water to the expanding southern service area, to close loops, in conjunction with other projects, and to provide redundancy of service in the event of line breaks or high fire-fighting demand.
Schedule
The survey and design for this project will be complete by spring 2006.

Overview
This project involves studying the existing Penny Road water pump station and South Wake water lines for use by Apex and Cary to transfer water between the Towns. The purpose is to provide recommendations to upgrade the pump station to current standards for more frequent use and possible acquisition by the towns. Facilities are to be incorporated into Water System Master Plan.
