Walnut Street North of Dillard Drive Add northbound through-lane from Dillard Drive to the U.S. 1/64 bridge as part of U.S. 1/64 interchange improvements.

With the U.S. 1/64 widening project, NCDOT plans to reconfigure the U.S. 1/64 bridge to accommodate the extra northbound lane. At the completion of this and the NCDOT project, Walnut Street will be a six-lane, median-divided road from Tryon Road to Donaldson Drive.
