DAVIS DRIVE WIDENING PROJECT UPDATE

Comments are currently being received from various NCDOT reviews of the 75% submittal. The comments received to date require no changes to the alignment submitted. Comments have not yet been received on the drainage design, but are expected this week.

Once the drainage comments are received, easement and R/W maps will be prepared and the Town can proceed with acquisition. During the acquisition phase of the project, any new R/W and easement lines will be staked on the ground, the Town will have appraisals made and will make offers to the property owners.

Construction of this project will begin when the property acquisitions are completed and NCDOT has approved construction plans. The construction phase is estimated to begin in Spring of 2002, and be completed in Spring of 2004.
