Overview

The Town is considering improvements to approximately two miles of Chapel Hill Road from NE Maynard Road to NW Maynard Road. Improvements would help relieve congestion and improve safety.

Description

  • From Academy Street to NE Maynard Road, proposed widening to a four-lane divided facility including sidewalks and wide outside lanes for bicycle travel within an existing 150-foot right of way.
  • From NW Maynard Road to Academy Street, proposed widening to a four-lane divided facility including sidewalks and wide outside lanes for bicycle travel within a 100-foot right of way.

Schedule

Corridor surveys and preliminary design are ongoing. A public hearing will be scheduled for review and comment after the preliminary design is complete.
