In order to accomplish these goals, inspections are performed periodically on water and sanitary sewer mains, and streets and storm drainage, along with standard inspections required at certain stages of construction.

The primary role of Field Services within the Engineering Department is the interpretation and enforcement of engineering standard specifications and details as they apply to new development and Town capital projects. Implementation of policies and procedures ensures that new infrastructure meets all applicable codes and requirements of the Town of Cary. Field services also includes the survey crews responsible for collecting field information for internally-designed projects.
