Waterline Inspection Notices
The Town of Cary Engineering Field Technicians must be notified of the following items of construction so that an inspection can be made before backfill operations may proceed. Field technicians may be reached at (919) 469-4030.
Note: No construction of any waterline can begin until a water extension permit has been approved and all construction plans have been reviewed and approved by the Town of Cary.
You must request inspection on these items:
- Boring and Jacking (spiders/skids, etc.)
- Tapping sleeves and valves
- Blowoff assemblies
- Fire Hydrants
- Rodding
- Thrust collars
- Reducers
- Services from the tap to meter box
- Tees, caps and all fittings and reaction blocking
- Meter vaults and assemblies
- Air release manholes
- Pressure test (a hydrostatic test at a pressure of 200 psi for two (2) hours.)
- Purity test (bacteriological analysis)
- As-builts submitted and easements recorded
- Final inspection
