Overview
The Southwest Area Plan updates the Town's 1996 Land Use Plan and complements the Northwest Cary Area Plan. While the northwest is expected to have development associated with Research Triangle Park, the Southwest Area plan emphasizes environmental protection, lower density and preservation of rural land patterns.
The focus is on land south of the Northwest Cary study area, generally west of N.C. 55 to the Wake County line, and north of the Apex Urban Service Area. See a map.
